Will Donnelly wurde am 19.05.1948 in Paterson, New Jersey,
geboren und wuchs in der Bronx, New York auf.

 

Er hatte seinen ersten Job als Assistant Director von Visual Merchandising bei Abercrombie & Fitch, dem ältesten und berühmtesten Kaufhaus an der Madison Avenue in Manhattan.

 

1975-1977 absolvierte er das Studium der Fotografie und Kunstgeschichte an der Hochschule Phoenix Arizona mit dem Abschluss Associate of Fine Arts in Fotografie. Workshops mit Wynn Bullock, Lee Friedlander, Eikoh Hosoe und Allen Dutton in New York, Arizona und Kalifornien folgten.

 

1977-1979 erwarb er einen Bachelor of Fine Arts in Photography am Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, Kalifornien.

 

Im Jahr 1980 verließ er Los Angeles, um in Mailand und Paris für Magazine und Kunden aus der Modebranche arbeiten. Kurz darauf eröffnete er ein auf Mode-, Beauty- und Werbefotografie spezialisiertes Atelier in Düsseldorf.

 

Er ist Mitglied der Royal Photographic Society, German Chapter.

Will Donnelly was born 19.05.1948 in Paterson, New Jersey, and was raised in the Bronx, New York.

 

He had his first job as an assistant director of visual Merchandising at Abercrombie & Fitch, the oldest & most famous department store on Madison Avenue in Manhattan.

 

1975-1977 he studied photography and art history at Phoenix College Arizona with the degree Associate of Fine Arts in Photography. Workshops with Wynn Bullock, Lee Friedlander, Eikoh Hosoe and Allen Dutton in New York, Arizona and California followed.

 

1977-1979 he studied commercial photography and art direction at the Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, California with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Photography. During this time he began with the first commercial work for local magazines and record companies. 

 

In 1980, he left Los Angeles to work in Milan and Paris for magazines and clients from the fashion industry. Shortly thereafter, he opened a studio in Dusseldorf, Germany where he specializes in fashion, beauty and advertising.

 

He is a member of the Royal Photographic Society (German Chapter).
